What to expect from a rewax at OILY JACK?

Once your garment has been fully reproofed by our dedicated staff at OILY JACK, you will be sure to notice a few instant changes. We have listed a few ket points below for your reference just encase it is your first time with us.

Colour Change—If your jacket has not been reproofed in a while or perhaps ever! You will surely notice how the colour of your wax jacket will darken after reproofing. This can of course vary from considerable to minimal depending on the condition and age of the jacket—so no exact science in terms of expected shade.

Glossy finish - Traditional thornproof dressing is specifically formulated to add a sheen to your wax jacket once fully cured. This is a brilliant way to see just how effective your jacket is in terms of waterproofing and a indication when your next re-wax might be needed.

Creasing - Depending on the amount of residual wax on you jacket, you may experience small white crease lines in the wax when wearing your jacket. This is of course no issue, and will eventually create a natural patina.

The things we do not do.

We do not wax inside the hemline, cuffs or any internal trim that is wax fabric material. This is to minimise any wax transference onto any garments underneath the jacket I.E trousers, shirts.
