PIONEERS IN WAX: Inside The Workshop with Belstaff.

July this year, we had the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Belstaff on their editorial campaign, Pioneers in Wax. The project was designed to celebrate the people and processes behind waxed cotton—those keeping the tradition alive with skill, care, and innovation. Naturally, they came to Oily Jack, our specialist rewax and repair workshop, to document our approach and capture the craftsmanship that goes into rewaxing the iconic Belstaff Roadmaster.

The film crew spent the day at our workshop, observing and recording the full rewaxing process from start to finish.

They were especially interested in the finer details—the preparation of the fabric, the careful application of wax by hand, and the finishing touches that bring a jacket back to life.

For us, it was a proud moment to be recognised not just as a service provider, but as part of the heritage and future of waxed outerwear.

Being featured in Pioneers in Wax meant more than just exposure. It was a reminder of why we started Oily Jack in the first place—to honour traditional techniques while raising the standard for restoration.

The Belstaff team were passionate, respectful, and genuinely excited to showcase our work, and the experience only deepened our belief in what we do. At Oily Jack, performance and preservation go hand in hand—and we’re proud to have shared that story with one of the most iconic names in outerwear.
